PUT one of our postcards, leaflets or posters in your front window; talk to your neighbours and friends

READ NHS SOS edited by Jacky Davis & Raymond Tallis, published 2013 by Oneworld
OPT out of your medical records being sent to care.data by informing your GP accordingly (see https://protectournhs.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/important-how-to-opt-out-of-care-data-its-your-medical-records-and-your-life-look-after-it/)
TELL your elected representatives that you want the Health and Social Care Act 2012 repealed and the legal duty of the Secretary of State for Health to provide a National Health Service reinstated
E MAIL or phone 07891 432224 or 07841 238588 so we can keep you informed of our activities so you can get involved
CONTACT your GP and/or surgery to ask why you haven’t been consulted on the way local health services are being delivered – and what arrangements exist for consulting you as a patient and member of the public
TELL your CCG in person in its public forum that (a) you oppose the competitive market being imposed on health services (b) you oppose for-profit companies providing health services and (c) you want to be fully consulted about how, where, and when health services are being tendered (phone us on 07881 532845 to find out when the next meeting is)

OPPOSE ideas like a £10 a month fee to use the NHS, a rebate for being healthy or paying to visit your GP. They are all mechanisms to soften us up for an insurance-based health service model (so tell your GP this too)
UNDERTAKE your own research about what’s going on; e.g. look at: http://nhsforsale.info/, http://www.keepournhspublic.com/index.php, http://999callfornhs.org.uk/ and http://socialinvestigations.blogspot.co.uk/. Watch Professor Allyson Pollock at http://www.bath.ac.uk/ipr/events/ipr-online-lectures/

NEVER, and we repeat … never trust a politician who has any kind of vested interest in private health to save the NHS. Ask them if they have private health insurance and, if so, why
HELP us financially, please, to produce leaflets, banners, buy materials for creative demonstrations, hire rooms/venues, organise coaches, and support our legal action. Contact us on 07841 238588 about donating to Protect Our NHS
SIGN our petitions and help out on our stalls to get others to sign them. For information about stalls, contact 07764 614621

  1. […] If you select the image above and drag it to your desk top, you can print it off and stick it in your front window to express your commitment to an NHS, free at the point of need, and not in the hands of private health care companies who want to make a profit out of our illnesses. If you want to know what else you can try and do to make a difference: go to https://protectournhs.wordpress.com/2014/05/08/13-things-we-can-do-to-protect-our-nhs/ […]
